Ferry Building Love

Just look at this gorgeous gaggle of gal pals on a private Ferry Building tour with our terrific guide Tori Ritchie in the center. This gang of seven have, between them, written and/or edited 50 cookbooks. Not too shabby. They learned a ton on tour from Tori. You can too.

Say hello to (from left): Amanda Haas (House of Haas Cooking School & cookbook author); Viola Buitoni (Italian-born chef/cooking instructor, author & European culinary tour guide); Anna/Anya Voloshyna (Ukraine-born chef, activist & author of the cookbook BUDMO!); Tori (cookbook author & cookbook writing instructor); Leslie Jonath (content producer & the force behind the cookbook Feed Your People); Kate Leahy (award-winning restaurant cookbook author & cookbook writing podcast co-founder); and Jodi Liano (cooking instructor, cookbook author & founder of the recently-closed San Francisco Cooking School).

Talk about a gifted gathering of Bay Area-based culinary queens.

The day’s savory menu included a huitlacoche taco from Mi Comedor, flaky Jamaican pastries from Peaches Patties, and wine and cheese courtesy of the Ferry Plaza Wine Merchant. And, since the tour ran on Valentine’s Day, there was no shortage of sweet offerings: ube churros courtesy of Senor Sisig, an SF icon truffle from Recchiuti, and a lemon macaron from Miette.

Amanda described the outing as “the best day ever with the best tour guide ever!”

Cheers to the five effs: fun, friendship, flowers, food, and the Ferry Building.
